Our Organic Cotton
Our t-shirts start life in a Cotton Field in India. We use local cooperative farms, which allows family run organic cotton to be harvested for our use.
We ensure that our cotton is organic - and pesticide free.
Around 2,700 litres of water are used in the production of 1 t-shirt, so we work with farms to develop ways of better water use.
Production
After our organic cotton is harvested, it is carded, combed and spun into yarn. It is then knitted into single jersey fabric.
We ensure that all of these processes are done in the same mill, close to the farm. This drastically reduces the amount of transport needed.
It is transported by ship to our eco factory, where we then source ethical & well paid labour to transform the fabric into our altid low carbon t-shirts.
Shipping
Finished t-shirts are sent to us in the UK. We calculate the carbon used for this shipment and offset this impact.
At altid HQ, we then combine with our 100% recyclable, plastic free, FSC approved packaging, and send out to you - delivering by bike or electric vehicle where possible.
